Slippery Rock University, Office of Conference Services

Let Slippery Rock University host your next event!  Our venues accommodate meetings and trainings, receptions and social events, and summer overnight retreats and athletic camps.

Located in western Pennsylvania, the state’s premier residential University will exceed your every expectation. Slippery Rock University, known as “The Rock”, is located on 610 acres between Routes I-80 and I-79 and is an easy drive from Pittsburgh, Erie, or Cleveland. State of the art technology is found in the “smart” classrooms and auditoriums on campus, which can accommodate groups from 20 to 2,000.  For groups of all sizes, Slippery Rock University provides a safe, all-inclusive, and exciting setting for your next event.  Our athletic facilities are considered second-to-none. The Aebersold Student Recreation Center and Morrow Field House can accommodate nine volleyball courts and six full basketball courts.  Slippery Rock University also has:

  • 5 Soccer fields + a turf field in the N. Kerr Thompson football Stadium
  • 1 softball field
  • Jack Critchfield Park- A premier baseball stadium
  • N. Kerr Thompson Football Stadium + 3 practice fields
  • Blase Scarnati Marching Band Field
In spring 2010, SRU added four intramural fields that can be used for a variety of sports and two softball diamonds.  These additions will increase the number of campers we can accommodate.  Interested in evening sports?  All fields are lighted.  Additionally, your camp can enjoy the Aebersold student Recreation Center, which includes a climbing wall and swimming pool.  During the summer, we offer a variety of housing options.  All our residential suites built since 2004 are LEED certified and feature air conditioning, a microwave oven, and a refrigerator.

The Office of Conference Services at Slippery Rock is dedicated to ensuring that your planning process is efficient and effortless.  We recognize that today, it is more important than ever to manage resources wisely.  The SRU professionals in Conference Services will assist throughout the planning and implementation of your camp.  Slippery Rock University provides clients their every need to ensure a successful event, while enabling fiscal responsibility.
 

Sustainability

Slippery Rock University has pledged to consider sustainability principles when making administrative decisions.  Slippery Rock University recently joined the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment.  The goal of the ACUPCC is neutralizing greenhouse gas emission and increasing research efforts in higher education.
