VisitPA Reports Over $600 MILLION in Visitor Spending in Butler County
(BUTLER, Pa., April 3, 2024) - The Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau (BCTCB) is proud to report that visitor spending in our area has increased by over $93 million in comparison to 2021.
(BUTLER, Pa., April 3, 2024) - The Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau (BCTCB) is proud to report that visitor spending in our area has increased by over $93 million in comparison to 2021. These numbers come from the latest Economic Impact of Pennsylvania’s Travel and Tourism Industry Report.
The report breaks this dollar amount into categories related to the tourism industry. This includes:
- $138 million spent on food & beverage
- $109 million in retail spending
- $68 million spent on lodging
- $114 million in recreation
- $170 million spent in transportation
“We are proud to see the County continue to contribute to our local economy in such an impactful way,” said President Jack Cohen “These numbers represent how vital the tourism industry is.”
The increase in visitor spending not only benefits local businesses but also generates tax revenue that supports community development and infrastructure improvements. The tourism industry plays a vital role in creating jobs and fostering economic growth in Butler County.
