First Responders To Be Recognized By Butler County Rotaries
Public Asked to Nominate Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Responders for Hometown Heroes Awards
BUTLER COUNTY, PA (March 1, 2023) – Butler County’s nine Rotary Clubs are joining forces with the 2024 Can-Am Police-Fire Games presented by Heroes First Home Loans, and the Butler Eagle to recognize the county’s first responders in the first-ever Hometown Heroes Awards.
A total of 27 first responders will be recognized for their outstanding contributions, efforts, and dedication. Each of the county’s nine Rotary Clubs will select one police officer, one firefighter, and one emergency medical responder based on nominations submitted by the public to be honored at a monthly meeting at which they’ll receive a Hometown Heroes Medal..
“It’s an honor to recognize first responders that give of themselves everyday to selflessly protect our citizens,” said Jack Cohen, District Governor of Rotary International District 7280 and President, Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau. “We’re extremely grateful for their service and this is a way to show the entire community’s appreciation for what they do.”.
The 27 first responders will be honored at the Hometown Heroes Awards dinner to be held in September.
Nominations can be made through the Butler Eagle at form.butlereagle.com. Nominations should not be longer than 250 words and should include the first responders name, department and at least one example of how they are committed to serving the community with the highest integrity.
Deadline for nominations, which will be forwarded to the geographically-appropriate Rotary Club which will announce its winners between May and August, is April 1.
