Special Olympics Pennsylvania

Every year a charity is named as the chosen recipient of the Can-Am Police-Fire Games. The 2024 event proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics Pennsylvania, which provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

This is a wonderful opportunity to show your appreciation for the First Responder community, as well as contribute to the efforts of the Special Olympics Pennsylvania. Your generosity will help us provide a wonderful experience to these well-deserving heroes. Here's the link to the Just Giving page.

We Care Program

We Care Program

December 2020
Many have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially Butler County’s restaurant and hospitality industry. In the midst of an environment of ever changing updates and modifications, our community remains constant - we support one another!

The Tourism Bureau partnered with the Butler County Commissioners and the Center for Community Resources to offer help to hospitality industry employees affected by lay-offs as a result of orders issued on December 10, 2020 by the Governor and Department of Health.

The We Care Program was run off of donations and designed to provide financial assistance to recently laid-off hospitality workers, as the holidays approached. Our website provided a webpage where hospitality business owners and managers could register recently laid off employees and the community could make donations.

The campaign ran from December 11-21, 2020. In just 10 days $140,000 was raised and 1,400 laid-off workers in the hospitality industry each received $100 gift cards. The program was very successful and helped many individuals and families in a time when they needed it the most.
