Birding Success!

The South Butler Christmas Bird Count, with the main focus centered upon the southern portion of the county, and also around Succop Nature Park, counted over 10,000 birds from 58 different species. Some rarer birds included Fox and Field Sparrows, waterfowl like a pair of Pied-billed Grebes and a male/female pair of Hooded Mergansers, and over 90 hawks/birds of prey of four different species (Red-tail, Coopers, Red-shouldered, and American Kestrel).
