Butler County has lots of options for the Halloween lovers - whether you’re a fan of frights or looking for family-friendly fall fun, there’s something for you to enjoy.

Fantastic Frights
Cheeseman Fright Farm: A haunt that includes a haunted hayride, corn maze, and walk through haunted attractions. Adding to the fear factor is the area’s isolation, set on a 300 acre farm with over 100 scare actors hiding around every corner.
- When: Fridays and Saturdays in September, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October from dusk to 10 p.m.
- Where: Cheeseman Farm, 147 Kennedy Rd., Portersville, PA
- Cost: $25.00 per Adult and 15.00 per child (under 48 inches). Please note, children 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors can also splurge for a “Fright Pass” ($50 per person) that allows you to skip the line and can be bought at any time.
The Haunted House at the Beacon Hotel: Climb on to the wagon, if you dare, and ride to The Beacon’s 15-acres of haunted attractions including a corn maze and haunted house. Age limit is left to the discretion of the children’s chaperone. All children under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
- When: Every Friday & Saturday in October, 7 - 10 p.m.
- Where: The Beacon Hotel, 231 Beacon Rd., Renfrew, PA 16053
- Cost: $25 per person ($3.00 discount vouchers are available inside the Beacon restaurant and the Butler Eagle) Please note that ticket sales are cash only.
Zombies of the Corn Haunted Attraction: Ever wonder how you’d fare in a zombie apocalypse? Head to Three Rivers Paintball in Freedom, PA for their annual Halloween event “Zombies of the Corn”. Ride along in their “Zombie Fighting Vehicle” and shoot paintballs at the attacking monsters. After you’ve gone to battle, enjoy a bonfire and ghost stories, brave the walk-through zombie compound, and wander your way through the new 3D Funhouse.
- When: Fridays & Saturdays through September, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in October, 7 - 10 p.m.
- Where: Three Rivers Paintball & Airsoft, 282 Rochester Rd., Freedom, PA 15042
- Cost: Prices vary depending on several add-on options, but begin at $34.99 per person. Add-ons include extra paintballs and a “s’mores pack” to make a treat by the campfire.
Nighttime in Harmony Lantern Tour: Learn all about the haunted history of Harmony during this evening walking tour. This is a select date, rain-or-shine event which will be approximately one to one and a half hours long.

- Where: The tour begins at The Legendary Neff Haus Ice Cream Shop at 550 Main Street Harmony, PA 16037
- Cost: $18 (includes a dessert of choice from Neff Haus)
Fun For the Family
- When: Every Saturday & Sunday in October, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Where: Cheeseman Farm, 147 Kennedy Rd., Portersville, PA
- Cost: The cost of the hayride is $5.00 per person. Children 2 years and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
Prices do not include the cost of the pumpkin — all pumpkins picked in the patch will be brought back to the barn and weighed to determine the price.
Freedom Farms Fall Festival: Pumpkin patches, pony rides, sunflower picking, corn maze, hay mountain, tractor rides, and face painting make for a full-day of family fun at Freedom Farms in Valencia, PA.
- When: Every Weekend in October and Columbus Day, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Where: Freedom Farms, 434 Overbrook Rd., Valencia, PA 16059
- Cost: $10 per person, children 3 and under get free admission
Harvest Valley Farms Fall Festival: Located in Gibsonia, PA Harvest Valley Farms is a fourth generation family farm that prides itself on its locally grown produce and sustainable growing practices. Their fall festival invites you for a day of fun visiting the pumpkin patch, crawling through the straw tunnel, munching on caramel apples, and taking hay rides. They also offer live music, craft beer from Conny Creek Brewing Company, and food vendors. See more details.
- When: Saturdays & Sundays September 30 through October 22
- Where: Harvest Valley Farm, 125 Ida Lane Valencia, PA 16059
- Cost: Free admission, pumpkin and kids activity prices vary
Fun Fore All’s Trick or Treat: All October long Fun Fore All is inviting you to play their special Halloween-themed mini-golf course. If you play in the evening, you’ll get to experience their spooky “glow golf”.
- When: Daily September 30 through October 31, 12 - 9 p.m.
- Where: Fun Fore All Cranberry, 8 Progress Ave. Cranberry Twp., PA 16066
- Cost: $12 per adult and $10 per child (12 and under).
Each participant receives a Trick or Treat bag filled with candy and goodies.
No Scare Sundays at The Beacon Hotel: Sunday afternoons are fright-free festivities at the Beacon Hotel where you can explore their corn maze, kids can participate in trick or treat, a petting zoo, and pony rides.
- When: Sundays in October

- Cost: Tickets are $10.00 for adults & kids over 5 years old. Children 5 & under are $8.00.
